The 2025 NBA Finals have reached fever pitch! With the series deadlocked at 2-2, the Indiana Pacers traveled to Oklahoma City for a crucial Game 5 matchup against the Thunder at the Paycom Center. The atmosphere was electric as both teams battled for a pivotal advantage in their quest for the championship.
In a nail-biting contest, the Oklahoma City Thunder emerged victorious, defeating the Indiana Pacers 111-104. The Thunder now hold a 3-2 series lead and are just one win away from securing the NBA title. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder's MVP, delivered a masterful performance, scoring 35 points, with 15 of those coming in the crucial final five minutes of the game. His late-game heroics proved to be the difference maker.
Jalen Williams also played a significant role in the Thunder's triumph, bouncing back from a subpar performance in Game 4 to contribute 27 points and grab seven rebounds. Alex Caruso provided a spark off the bench, adding 20 valuable points to the Thunder's offensive effort.
Despite the loss, Pascal Siakam led the Pacers with 20 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Tyrese Haliburton added 18 points and seven assists. Obi Toppin chipped in with 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench, but the Pacers' overall performance wasn't enough to overcome the Thunder's late-game surge.
The series now shifts back to Indiana for Game 6, where the Pacers will fight to keep their championship hopes alive. The Thunder, on the other hand, will look to close out the series and claim their first NBA title. Game 6 promises to be another intense battle as these two teams continue to showcase their skills and determination on the biggest stage in basketball.
For fans wanting to catch the action, Game 6 will be broadcast nationally on ABC on June 19th at 8:30 p.m. ET. Streaming options are available via Fubo.
