Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese etched her name into the WNBA history books on Sunday, notching her first career triple-double in a dominant 78-66 victory over the Connecticut Sun. The performance marked a significant milestone for the rising star and propelled the Sky to a much-needed win, snapping a three-game losing streak.

Reese's stat line was impressive: 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists, all while leading the team with 36 minutes played. The decisive assist, which secured the triple-double, came when she found Ariel Atkins, who drained a long two-pointer to extend Chicago's lead to 14 points with less than three minutes remaining in the game.

This is only the second triple-double recorded in the WNBA this season. Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark secured the first one on May 17 with a 20-point, 10-rebound, and 10-assist outing against none other than the Chicago Sky.

Reese, a standout in her second season, is currently averaging 10.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. Against the Sun, Chicago showcased its depth, with five players reaching double figures in scoring.

The 23-year-old has quickly established herself as a force in the league, breaking records at an astonishing pace. Earlier this year, she became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 500 career points and 500 career rebounds, achieving the feat in just 38 games.

Her rookie season in 2024 was equally record-breaking, setting new league standards for rebounds per game (13.1), total rebounds in a season (446), and offensive rebounds in a season (172). She also recorded an impressive 26 double-doubles, including a streak of 15 consecutive games, further cementing her position as a dominant presence on the court.
