"Casanova Killer" Glen Edward Rogers Executed in Florida for Murder of Tina Marie Cribbs

Must Read

Glen Edward Rogers, dubbed the "Casanova Killer" for his deadly charm, was executed in Florida, U.S., on Thursday for the 1995 murder of Tina Marie Cribbs. Rogers, 62, received a lethal injection at 6:16 p.m., marking the end of a case that spanned multiple states and left a trail of grief.

Rogers' victims shared a chilling commonality: they were primarily single mothers in their 30s with reddish hair. Beyond Cribbs, Rogers was linked to the deaths of Sandra Gallagher in California, Linda Price in Mississippi, and Andy Lou Jiles Sutton in Louisiana. He was also connected to the 1994 death of Mark Peters in Kentucky, a man he briefly lived with.

The execution brings a sense of closure to families who have endured decades of anguish. Randy Roberson, whose mother Andy Lou Jiles Sutton was murdered, attended the execution seeking to fill the void left by his mother's death. Mary Dicke, Tina Marie Cribbs' mother, battled cancer to witness Rogers' execution. Jerri Vallicella, sister of victim Sandra Gallagher, expressed relief that the long nightmare was finally over.

Rogers' life was marked by a troubled childhood, witnessing domestic violence and struggling with substance abuse. His attorneys argued that a liver condition could have caused undue suffering during the execution, but both the Florida and U.S. Supreme Courts rejected their appeals. Rogers also once made unsubstantiated claims of killing Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

Authorities connected five murders to Rogers. Sandra Gallagher, 33, was found in her burning vehicle. Linda Price, 34, was found stabbed to death in her bathtub. Tina Marie Cribbs, 34, was discovered in a hotel bathtub. Andy Lou Jiles Sutton, 37, was found stabbed to death in her bed. Mark Peters, 72, was found dead in a shack.

Rogers held various jobs, including school bus driver and carnival worker. His capture at 33 led to nearly three decades on death row.

His execution makes him the 16th inmate executed in the U.S. this year and the fifth in Florida.
